The payment process—from accepting a customer payment to receiving funds in your bank account— is straightforward. Understanding merchant services is important, most providers charge three main types of fees:
Discount Rate – A percentage of each transaction. Rates vary depending on pricing structure and transaction type.
Transaction Rate – A flat amount charged per transaction, typically between $0.00–$0.25
Monthly – Includes customer service, technical support, reporting, statements, minimums and account maintenance.
